
I love everything seafood – crabs, shrimps, clams and the such. I also love Mac and Cheese which is one of my staple comfort foods. So I thought, why not combine both? Introducing, Crayfish Mac and Cheese! Now I can satisfy both my cravings at the same time! Nom Nom Nom!
Ingredients
- 200g macaroni
- 45g + 20g Butter
- 40g All Purpose Flour
- 600g Milk
- 5g Salt
- 5g Ground Pepper
- 250g grated cheddar
- 50g Parmesan
- 15g Sugar
- 40g bread crumbs
- 15 pcs medium size crayfish ( you may add more if you like)
Method:
- Preheat Oven to 180 degree celsius
- Boil the macaroni as per instruction on the package, drained and set aside
- Boil the crayfish until it turned orange/red. Separate the meat from the shell, and cut it into chunks. Set aside
- Melt 40g butter in a sauce pan, add in the flour, and whisk to combine, add in the milk, and whisk thoroughly until no visible lumps. Add salt, pepper and sugar
- Add in the Parmesan and Cheddar. Stir until the cheese melted and sauce thickens
- Turn off the heat and add in the cooked macaroni and crayfish, stir to combine ensuring all the nooks and crannies of the pasta is getting the sauce. Serve it on a pasta dish.
- Prepare the topping by melting the 20g of butter on a pan, stir in all the bread crumbs, and toast it for about a minute on medium heat while continue stirring it.
- Sprinkle all the toasted bread crumbs on the top of the pasta, bake it for about 15-20 minutes or until the top is slightly browned
