
Savoury tarts are my thing. They are like mini meals, perfect snacks for a lazy afternoon, or a great energy boost to start your day! Im not the only fan of savoury tarts, my son is too, judging by the fact that he ate 4 tarts in one go! Lol
Ingredients (Filling)
- 150g minced beef
- 140g potato (small cube size and boiled)
- 2 minced shallots
- 2 tbs oil
- 2 tbs red curry paste (Dancing Chef Brand)
- 2 tbs coconut milk
- 2 tbs water
Method
- In a heated wok, add 2 tbs oil. Add in the shallots. Sauté for about a minute at medium heat
- Add in the minced meat, break the meat into bits and sauté until golden brown
- Turn down the heat to medium low add in the boiled or cooked potatoes
- Add in the curry paste, coconut milk and water. Mix until all meat and potatoes are coated with the sauce.
- Set aside
Ingredients (Custard)
- 150g egg
- 150g whipping cream
- 150g milk
- 1/4 tsp salt
- pepper to taste
Method
- Whisk the egg, whipping cream and milk. Whisk well and sieve to ensure smoother custard. Add the salt and pepper. Mix well. Set Aside
Others
- 19 pcs frozen tart shell (you may use prata or puff pastry )
- grated cheese
Baking Method
- Preheat the oven at 230 degree celsius
- Place the tart shell on the tray, fill it with 1 tsp filling. Topped with some grated cheese. Do not put too much, a little will do. Cheese will be browned faster.
- Fill it with the custard almost to the brim
- Bake for 17-18 minutes. Turn the tray every 8-9 minutes.
- Let it cool down on a wire rack
