Stir Fried Minced Beef With Fine Beans

This protein packed meal is a as delicious as it is nutritious and incidentally on of my son’s favourite dishes. He will be always so happy and satisfied to eat this alone with rice. He says that it’s the crunch of the fine beans that he likes the most which is surprising because he has declared himself a carnivore so for him to like a dish with vegetables means that the dish must be really good. Cooking this is very easy with not much steps required. =). You may also use French beans if you like but we prefer fine beans which are like French beans but are narrower in size.

Ingredients

  • 230g fine beans (rinse, pat dry, trim and chop into small pieces)
  • 320g minced beef
  • 3 long red Chili (slice)
  • 1 tbs minced shallot
  • 1 tbs minced garlic

Gravy

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbs oyster sauce
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2.5 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp dark soy sauce

Note : I use baking cup and spoon for measuring

Method

  • Mix all the gravy together until well combined. set aside. Stir again prior to use to combine the starch well.
  • In a heated well seasoned wok at medium high heat, drizzle 2 tbs oil. Stir fry the garlic , chilli and shallots till fragrant.
  • Add in the minced beef, stir fry until about 80 percent cooked. Break up the meat into bits. Add in the fine beans. Stir fry for about 2-3 minutes or until the beans are somewhat tender but with little crunch. Add in the gravy. Stir fry till the sauce thickens. Turn off the heat and serve with rice or porridge.
